Cannabis Sativa strains are genetic profiles of marijuana that would be predominantly exhibiting Sativa characteristics.  You can think of marijuana plants just like any other living organism that has a family tree.  Different strains of marijuana exhibit traits of their parents.  We label strains as being Sativa or Sativa Dominant when 70 – 80% or more of their genetic profile comes from Sativa strains.

Sativa’s are great for outdoor activities, being productive, cleaning the house or being creative.  They are good for people that have depression and need mood elevation.  A note of caution is that these are the strains that can increase anxiety if you are prone to it.  The elevation of heart rate and thoughts can trigger panic in some users.  This can feel uncomfortable for some people.  These effects when smoked tend to only last for 30mins to 1hr.

Cannabis sativa is found primarily in hot, dry climates with long sunny days. These include Africa, Central America, Southeast Asia, and western portions of Asia.
